Nifty Fifty

Creative Writing
Join us for this session of Creative Writing as we explore parodies. Through exaggeration, comedy and whatever else your imagination dreams up, we will imitate the style of selected authors and songwriters to create our very own parodies.

Dulcimer Club
Students will learn the basics of playing the Appalachian/Mountain/Lap dulcimer. We will learn the skills of playing simple tunes with the built in drone that the dulcimer uses. This class is open to the first 25 students due to limited numbers of instruments.

Strategy Game Club
Do you enjoy learning new games that involve strategy and problem solving? If so, come join us to play games such as Blokus, Mancala, Qwirkle, Batik, Forbidden Island and many more!

French Club
Bonjour! Come join us after school to explore the basics of the French language and culture. We will learn to communicate some basic conversations in French, while learning about the culture too!

Coding Club
Do you enjoy working with computers? Are you interested in learning about programming? Come join us for an exciting new class that will allow students to learn basic coding to program a Sphero SPRK ball to complete a challenge. Legos will also be included in the challenge!

Knitting with a Cause
Interested in learning a new craft and helping others? In this class, you will do both. We will use circle knitting looms to make scarves and hats that will be donated to people in need. No knitting experience is needed; learning something new is all part of the fun. Join us in being creative while serving others.

Culture Club

Chess Club
This club is for students who have never played chess before and for those that have some experience! We will have older students helping teach some of the rules and strategies. Students will be partnered up appropriately and will engage in games together while they learn. We'll conclude our session with some "mini-tournaments".
