Welcome to the Pony Family!
Brenda Foster - SDI Instructional Support
Hello, My name is Brenda Abundis Foster.
I have a wonderful husband, of 15 years, named Samuel Foster. We have two handsome boys, Samuel II and Jeremiah. During our free time we enjoy swimming, fishing, playing sports, attending sporting events, and hanging with family.
I’m super excited to be apart of the Pony family. I started working with children at Children’s Courtyard from 1999-2001. I started in the infant room and quickly moved up into a classroom setting with toddlers ranging from ages 1-4. I really enjoyed my time at the daycare, but found myself searching for a career that offered a different dynamic. I started working in a Bakery from 01-04, were I was trained to bake and decorate cakes. During this time I was attending a career school for nursing, which I didn’t complete because life took me in a different direction. I soon found myself working for a retail store from 04-2013. During that time I was promoted to supervisor then to store manager. I loved the career I was diving into. The pay was great and the benefits were awesome. I met my husband during that time and had both boys while working for this company. Then, life happened. My oldest was struggling in school, academically, socially, and emotionally. My husband and I thought it would be better for me to stay at home with the kids. It wasn’t easy getting used to being a “stay at home mom”. I began to search for jobs that I could do while my kids were in school. I started working with Durham School bus services, from 2013-2014, as a special needs aide. The company was outbid by First Student the following school year, and I was given the opportunity to apply for the same position. I continued working as an aide until 2017. Of course I love working with the SPED students on the bus, however, I wanted to do more. I was hired by LISD, in 2017, as an AVID tutor working with middle school students in preparing them for high school and college. I’ve enjoyed working in the different middle schools and being around so many diversities. I have been involved in teaching, training, and motivating students in a classroom setting and look forward to a new experience with Lewisville Elementary. Thank you for the opportunity and I can’t wait to meet everyone.
Sincerely,
Brenda A. Foster
