6th Grade Language Arts (ELA)
In the classroom...
I absolutely love teaching middle school! Of course, sixth graders are my favorite! I first entered the doors of Tidwell as a parent myself 5 years ago and immediately felt at home. I am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school and community. I believe every student has the capability of learning and being successful. I teach with a variety of learning styles in mind and see every child as a gift. I have a relaxed, fun teaching style with a goal to help all students love learning! My two rules are: work hard and be kind!
A little about me...
When I am not in the classroom with my amazing students I love spending time with my family. I have been married since 2000 to my husband Jeremy and we have three wonderful kids. Most of our time is consumed with watching them participate in their sports such as: gymnastics, baseball, basketball and football. If we ever have time away from the field or gym you can find us on the lake. We enjoy wakeboarding and boating as a family.
Education and Professional Background
I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2002 with a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading. I began my teaching career in Keller ISD in First Grade. I was also a Children's Minister for a local church during several years when I stepped out of the classroom while my children were younger.
Travel
We love to travel, especially to India. Here we are in front of the Taj MaHal.
On the Lake
My kids enjoy jumping off the boat every chance they get!
