Moving into term 2
Dear MPS families-
As we head towards the Thanksgiving holiday next week, we want to wish each and every family a happy Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for the support we continue to receive from the community during virtual learning. As we move into term 2 and reflect on student progress, we are pleased to see our students increase their participation and engagement.
Overall, students are regularly attending their live google meet sessions and working on assignments through the Schoology platform. We are so proud of our students at MPS and how many of them have taken control of their learning and have figured out how to navigate our virtual platforms. It has been amazing to see how even our youngest learners can rise to the occasion when the bar is set so high.
Report cards for term 1 have been mailed and should begin arriving soon. If you have questions regarding your students grades, please reach out to the teacher so they can fully answer any questions you may have. A full explanation regarding grading is available in my principal message on the November 6th newsletter. All newsletters can be found the the front page of our website at https://education.fcps.org/mps/ .
Our MPS staff continues to look for ways to engage students in activities that would other wise happen in the school building. Our first virtual book fair was a success and we thank you for supporting. We are excited to participate in another upcoming virtual event, Family Code Night. This is optional for students and families and you can find more details below.
We always love to see your pictures of our students learning. You can share them on Twitter and tag @PrincipalMPS and include the hashtag #knightpride.
Fondly,
Sandy Fox
Principal
