Dear Parents,
Dear Hairgrove Families,
It’s unbelievable to see that the end of the school year arrived so quickly. I want to thank you all for the support and patience you have shown these past nine months. We had successes and some challenges, yet despite all, we continued the work that has to be done to ensure the safety and educational needs of our students. We appreciate you more than you could ever know for supporting your children and the Hairgrove staff.
I would like to thank our hard-working and caring faculty and staff who have made a huge difference to our students. Their commitment is outstanding and our kids are the beneficiaries. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for our kids and for knowing that education is about wonder and fostering curiosity, and developing social skills needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, we are truly grateful.
Please make sure your child attends school every day until the last day of school, May 26. We have some fun activities and dress-up days planned for the last few weeks of school!
I wish you all a very happy, safe, and enjoyable summer. Please be sure to take time as a family to talk, play, and read together.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lee
Last Day for Lunch Visitors
Due to testing and the many special activities happening in the last weeks of school, we will only have 2 more opportunities for parents to eat lunch with their child this school year. The last 2 days that we can accept lunch visitors will be on Monday, May 9th and Monday, May 16th
Car Riders
Morning Car Riders:
Please say your goodbyes and have your child ready to exit the passenger side of the vehicle. This will help keep the line running smoothly and efficiently.
Afternoon car riders:
Please have your car rider number displayed from the rear view mirror when you enter the parking lot and leave it hanging there until your child is safely inside of your vehicle. Having the number hanging allows it to be easily seen by all staff members and keeps the car rider line running smoothly and efficiently.
Music Notes
Hairgrove will be represented by six very talented fourth graders at Cy-Fair’s District Music Memory contest. They are: Benjamin Cooksey, Saul Gonzalez, Adrian Montes, Marco Palacios, Aiden Podvin, and Jace Thomas. They will be competing Monday, May 16 at the Berry Center from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. You’re welcome to come and support our team as they demonstrate how much they’ve learned about composers and their music.
I can’t wait for everyone to hear the beautiful song fifth graders are preparing to sing at their graduation ceremony. They have accomplished quite a bit this year!
It has been such an honor to work with students here at Hairgrove over the last twenty -three years. I will miss you all!

P.E. Update
A NOTE FROM THE GYM:
Just a friendly reminder to please talk with your student about the importance of self- control in large group, especially the gym. Although it is one of the most fun areas of the school, it can also be dangerous if students are being reckless because of the number of people in a class at a time. Also, please make sure your student is wearing the appropriate footwear on their PE days, because our classes are very active and injuries can occur. The kids have been enjoying basketball for the last couple of weeks, it’s been fun to watch! We have really been working on the position of the point guard, and watching middle school game clips in class to help them understand spacing. They have been doing lots of drills for practice, and they are really doing well! Field Day is coming up, so be on the lookout for updates about that special event!
Thanks!
Coach Dyson
LIBRARY UPDATE
All library books are due on Friday, May 13.
Please return your books and pay your lost book fines so our library inventory and collection development for the upcoming school year can be completed.
3rd through 5th grade students have access to Sora ebooks throughout the summer, so be sure to keep reading!
The CyFair Mobile Library will have dates for June and July. Please stay tuned for more information.
NURSE HALEY'S NEWS:
May is Mental Health Month
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on mental health in adults and children in our community. It is important to reach out to friends and family to ensure their wellbeing and encourage those that need help to seek professional help.
Friendly Reminders:
· Pre-K and Kindergarten parents please continue sending a pair of clean clothes in the student's backpack in case of any accidents.
· Please ensure students wear their masks daily and send an extra mask in their backpack.
The school year is coming to a close. There are a few reminders to get us prepared for the summer as well as the next school year.
Please remember to pick up all student medications from the nurse’s office, as they will be discarded on the last day of school, no exceptions.
If your child needs medication next year: Please bring doctor orders, asthma actions plans, and have pharmacy labels on medications to be given. Medications are to be dropped off by the parent/guardian and signed in, never to be brought in by the student.
Parents of Pre-K students going into Kinder: Make sure your student is up to date with their 4-year-old vaccines!! It is a requirement for them to have these to attend the first day of school!! CFISD requires that a student show acceptable evidence of vaccination prior to entry, attendance, or transfer to a child-care facility or public or private elementary or secondary school in Texas. For more information on Immunizations see: https://www.cfisd.net/en/parents-students/health/immunizations/
