Saxton Newsletter 30.4.21
School Uniform
Please remember that it is important that your child comes to school in the correct uniform. Now that Covid restrictions are lifting and shops have reopened, we expect all children to be able to follow our policy in what they wear to school, including their PE kit. If you are unsure what this entails, details can be found on our website.
Sports Day
We are hoping to hold Sports Day on 14th July. This is, of course, entirely dependent upon Covid restrictions, but we hope that by then we will be able to invite parents onto the school site to enjoy the afternoon races.
Trees
We were delighted to be able to plant some new trees in our wildlife area this week. They were supplied at no cost by the Woodland Trust. Our children did a brilliant job of planting, and we look forward to seeing these trees grow and develop over the years to come. We hope that this will secure a range of habitats for different species of creatures.
School Gate
The gate will be unlocked for parents to drop off and collect children at the beginning and end of the day.
Medicspot Face Mask Challenge
We're calling all children to design your own face mask! Win face masks for you and all your classmates, a £500 prize for our school and help support NHS workers and volunteers. To get your face mask template and to enter, go to www.medicspot.co.uk/mask

School Lunches
Next week we will be on Week 1 of the lunch menu below.
Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.
Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.
Each day there are 3 choices, either the hot dinner, the sandwich or the jacket potato with a choice of topping. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.
Covid Tests for Families
If you’re a member of a household, childcare bubble of a pupil, student or staff of a school, nursery or college, you can get a twice-weekly test:
- through your employer if they offer testing to employees
- at a local test site
- by collecting a home test kit from a test site
- by ordering a home test kit online
