Happy Friday! I hope the weekend brings you lots of time to relax, laugh, and have fun!

Just a quick note about the recently approved school calendar. The dates for Fall Break were incorrect. The correct dates are October 10 - 14, 2022. A new calendar will be approved by the board and our website will be updated to reflect the changes.

Please keep up on your emails and social media if possible as these are the first methods of communication with parents.

Stay safe and healthy and enjoy the weekend!

COVID Numbers and Mask Updates

Masks are required when a COVID positive person was in attendance and MAY have exposed others. According to the Health Department, potentially exposed students can come to school but must wear a mask for 10 days. As of today (Friday) at 6:30 am, only one grade, 2nd, will need to wear masks next week due to potential COVID exposure. If new information is provided this weekend that changes this status, we will reach out via email to parents.

We are tracking ALL COVID positive cases and at-home exposures as reported to us by parents, staff and the health department.. These are the numbers of reported positive staff and students over the past 7 days. PLEASE remember the above mask status may change based on information received from staff, parents and the health department over the weekend.

COVID + Students = 10

COVID + Staff = 0

As we have mentioned multiple times, Bridge is doing everything possible to keep our doors open for kids. We are so fortunate that our model has the benefit of multiple staff members in each classroom so the chance of us needing to shut our doors to move to digital learning due to lack of staff, is very remote.

Bridge Shirt Order

Our newest shirt order is ready for you to begin ordering. This order will close tomorrow, Saturday, January 29. Shirts are NOT sold at the school and if you miss this order, the next one will be March. All shirts are paid for online and will be delivered to the school around the middle of February. When ordering please remember:
  1. Enter your oldest student's name in the notes. This will allow us to deliver shirts to the correct student.
  2. Order the CORRECT sizes - there are no refunds or replacements. Kid sizes are prefaced with a "Y" for youth. For example, "YS" is a youth small while "S" is an adult small.

Shirts include short and long sleeved tees, hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts. Styles keep updating based on the availability of youth sizes. Apparently shirts, like everything else, are impacted by COVID and vendor's struggles with transit and production.

Bridge Elementary offers FREE lunch for all men and women safety officers and military personnel in uniform. We call this our LUNCH FOR SAFETY program. Please call the office at 801-499-5180 prior to 9 am if you would like to eat lunch with us to ensure our chefs have prepared enough. Lunch is served 11:00 am to 12:45 pm daily. When you arrive at the office just let them know you are at the school to eat free lunch for "Lunch for Safety". You will be provided a free lunch card. You can find our scrumptious menu on our website by clicking on the LUNCH icon: https://www.bridgecharter.org/lunch

If you would like to donate to this program you can donate in the office or using our DONATE icon on our home page.. Each lunch you donate will count as ONE volunteer hour. Thank you for supporting Bridge, our first responders, and military!

Valentines for Troops

A group of girls came to the office with a big request. They would like our school to support the "Valentines for Troops" effort. While participation will be to each teacher's discretion you can certainly participate as a family. Please check out the link below to see how your family can help participate in this wonderful event!

Valentine's Day at Bridge

Some of our classes and learning pods have decided to have Valentine's Day activities in the classroom. This is NOT a schoolwide event and each grade was allowed to do this at their own discretion. Students are NOT required to participate. If a grade has chosen to distribute Valentine Cards at a grade level, a student can bring just a few to distribute - they are not required to bring one for all 80+ students in the pod. Students will NOT open Valentines during school. They will take their Valentine cards home to open. Using this process, students can bring candy for a Valentine and parents can determine if any candy items should not be eaten by the student.
