Below are the instructions on how to earn up to 10 additional points on your exams and quizzes.
Please read very carefully.
Remediation opportunities that are not completed correctly will not be accepted.
All exam remediation submissions are due no later than the last day of class @ 11:59 p.m. (May 8)
Please do turn them in as you complete them. (EMAIL them to me in a Canvas message ONLY.)
I will add points after the end of the term...all at once to avoid confusion or mistakes.
If you have questions please ask!
LOOK @ the bright side of your lucky day: you not only earn extra points & improve your average...you LEARN the material that you will see again on the final exam!
You can CHOOSE the quizzes that you want to submit corrections for!
CAUTION: DO NOT allow your other assignments to be late because you are busy working on the extra learning opportunities.
Here's How to Launch Your Average with Test Corrections!
- You may only earn up to 10 points on each quiz/exam (per GaVS policy.)
- Once you have attempted a unit exam and it has been graded, you can attempt test corrections.
- Go to the "Quizzes" section and scroll to your completed exam of choice.
- Next click on the submissions button by clicking on the downward pointing arrow.
- Click on the attempt made.
- You will see all of the questions you answered incorrectly.
Test correction process (for each question)
- You must first write (handwritten) out the full question & the correct answer, highlighting the correct answer choice with a colored highlighter.
- You must explain why the correct answer is correct. Simply stating, "Because C is the correct answer" is insufficient. Instead, you can add supporting facts, details, and/or explain why the other choices must be wrong. If you need help with this, please ask.
- Next, write the letter of the answer you missed. You must also explain why you missed the question. Take a minute to be honest and reflect on the reason why. This should be completed in one or two sentences.
- Finally, you must explain where in your course module you found the correct answer. A specific page in your module must be reference. *You may use the internet to find the correct information, but if you do so you must include a proper citation from the site you used.
REMEMBER THIS MUST BE HAND WRITTEN!
What do I do with my test corrections?
- Now, how do you get my hand written test corrections?
- Well, here is the tricky part...you will need to scan your corrections or take a picture (make sure it is readable), create a document, and submit the document to the Remediation dropbox. Please make sure they are clearly labeled with your name and the name of the exam you are correcting on them. If there is no name, I can't give you credit!
- The reason I want them hand written is so that you actually pay attention to the mistakes that were made and learn from them. I do not think copying & pasting them will do that. (Research proves that writing information forces you to process it in your brain!)
- I suggest submitting test corrections as soon as you complete them. All test corrections for all exams are due before or on the last day of class @ 11:59 p.m. NO LATE test corrections will be accepted. (Due May 8!)
