The Skeletal System

By: Lance & Rhea

Why this system is important?

This body system is important because it supports internal organs, produces red blood, stores certain materials inside of the body until the body needs them, provides shape and support, and last but not least the body enables us to move around freely!

How can I keep my skeletal system healthy?

A lot of people know that bones need calcium and vitamin D so we can keep our bones healthy and strong but some people are allergic or can't have some of the foods/drinks because their body doesn't cooperate with them. Here is a list of calcium filled foods and drinks!

1) Milk

2) Cheese

3) Yogurt

4) Sardines

5) Soybeans

6) Enriched breads, grains, and waffles

7) Dark leafy greens

8) Fortified cereal (Raisin Brand, Corn Flakes, Total)

9) Eggs

10) Fish

Another way is to work out at least 30 minutes a day with weight-bearing workouts, building muscles increases bone density to build healthy bones and prevent osteoporosis and also prevent smoking, drinking, pay attention to some medicines that weaken bones because that can lead to osteoporosis.

What will happen if I don't take care of my body?

If you don't take care of your body then you can have osteoporosis which is cause by weakening bones from not taking care of them by providing vitamin D and calcium.
