REGISTRATION FOR THE 2016 ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE SUMMER WORKSHOP
Title III is hosting a one-day English as a second language (ESL) summer workshop on Monday, June 20, entitled, Why Aren’t You Looking At Me When I Talk To You?, for 75 K-12 classroom teachers. The purposes of the workshop are to discuss misconceptions, identify classroom strategies and provide teachers with concrete recommendations for discovering the joy in working with culturally and linguistically diverse immigrant students.
Teachers registering through MyLearningPlan for the one-day ESL summer workshop must have fulfilled their contractual commitments for the 2015-2016 school year no later than Friday, June 17, as the workshop scheduled on June 20 is the flexible staff day. Teachers in attendance will receive six PLP points, which will be exported to count for license renewal.
If you have questions about the ESL summer workshop, please contact Renee Collier, Title III coordinator for English learners, at rcollier@vbschools.com or by phone at 263-1461. Thank you.
