Message from Mrs. Robertson
We hope that you have had an opportunity to check your child's progress and grades up to this point in the term. If you are not seeing what you expected to see, you will want to access your Schoology account or your student's account. There you will be able to see if your child has overdue assignments, received a lower grade than expected or forgotten to submit work. If you find that your child is behind on work and needs assistance we encourage you to access the academic and specials help resources that are available. Resources are listed below.
Our job is to collaborate with you as we work to meet the needs of our students. We are partners in the success of our students!
Yours in educations,
Kimberly Robertson

Interims and Report Cards
Here's some important information to keep you informed:
Interims
The term 1 mid-term date is today, Friday, October 2. FCPS will email interim reports to parents/guardians of students who are earning a D or F on the date that teachers finalize their mid-term grades. Each teacher will notify students and parents via email or send a notification through Schoology asking parents to review their child's interim grade at some point between Friday, October 2 and the interim distribution date of Friday, October 9. Please know that an interim may be issued at any point during the term if deemed necessary based on FCPS guidelines
Report Cards
Term 1 ends on Friday, November 6. FCPS will mail report cards on the term 1 distribution date, Thursday, November 19.
Parent Schoology Information
If you are not signed up to access your child's information in Schoology, please contact your child's teacher for directions.
For more information and helpful tips about using Schoology, please visit www.fcps.org/schoology.
A helpful way for parents to monitor your child's progress is signing up to receive a daily email with your child's grades, missing work, upcoming assignments, and announcements. Click one of these two links for directions regarding how to set up your Schoology account to receive the daily email.

Help for Students
Students my receive additional support with their virtual learning experience. CMES has resources available to assist students with understanding content, catching up on assignments and answer questions about their learning. The CMES Schedule for help and Google Meet codes are linked below. Students will need to be logged in to their FCPS Chrome account to access the Google Meet session.
These sessions have been structured in a drop-in format. Students may enter and exit as their needs are met anytime within each session. As students enter, the staff member may be assisting another student. Students should utilize the raise hand feature within Google Meet to communicate their need for support.

PTA Update
Greetings CMES Families,
The CMES PTA Board welcomes you to a school year like no other we've experienced. Our
PTA is dedicated to supporting our school administration, teachers, and staff. This year, PTA
will look different, due to the many restrictions still in place that prevent us from hosting
on-campus activities for our families. However, your membership and support of PTA still
impacts your students' success by empowering us to extend financial support and personal
encouragement to the wonderful staff at CMES.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
We welcome you to join the PTA by visiting our webpage at http://cmes.my-pta.org and clicking on the "Join PTA" button or paying your dues through PayPal . Why join PTA, & what does your $10 membership fee do?
● $5 of your registration goes to Frederick County Council PTA, allowing you, if you
choose, to have a greater voice in our community and state on what legislation is
voted on for our schools.
● $5 of your registration goes directly into the CMES PTA account to be used for
operating budgeted expenses, for school support, and student activities.
● Being a part of PTA fosters connections: with other families in our school, with school
community activities, and with school staff who educate and support your child(ren).
● Your involvement with the PTA demonstrates to your child(ren) that you are committed
to their education.
● Do I have to volunteer if I join? You don't have to volunteer to be a member.
Remember, your membership directly supports our school.
● I'm afraid to volunteer because I don't want to be overwhelmed. Should I still
join? Yes! PTA members are not required to volunteer. That said, we welcome all
willing PTA members to volunteer. Volunteers run many of the events Carroll Manor
families love--from paint nights and movie nights to the talent show and the book fair.
Other volunteers serve a few hours once or twice a year, working on a task from
home. All volunteers are appreciated and valued! Your work as a volunteer supports
our school and fosters a strong community. We strive to have as many different
volunteers chair committees as possible to distribute the workload.
CMES PTA WEBSITE ( http://cmes.my-pta.org )
On our website--or through PayPal --you may also make a donation to the PTA, which is a direct contribution to the CMES PTA operating funds. These funds support our staff and students. If we are able to return to school in person next semester, funds will also support additional student enrichment and family activities. Spirit wear can also be purchased through our CMES PTA webpage if you are interested in a clothing item to show your school spirit.
PTA BOARD VACANCIES
The PTA Board is seeking a new President and County Representative for this school year.
Anyone interested in these positions--or any other PTA board position--please contact me at
