Political Revolutions in History
What even happened?
Political revolutions occurred throughout the history of the world. Many revolutions ended up leaving the situation worst than it previously was and some resulted from government issues. On the other hand, many revolutions also caused the government to improve. One thing's for sure, political revolutions shape history in many ways.
The Cuban Revolution
One major revolution in the Cuban Revolution is the Batista forced out by Castro-led revolution. While Castro was the main one to begin the revolution, he had many followers who revolted as well. Many Cubans revolted due to the increasingly rampant corruption, greed, brutality, and inefficiency of the Batistan government. On January 1, 1959, Batista and a number of his supporters fled Cuba for the Dominican Republic. Thousands of Cubans celebrated the end of the dictator's rule.
The American Revolution
The 13 British colonies in North America were angry about the British over taxing and lack of representation, in their at the time, Parliament. These factors led to a short period of protests against Britain until independence was declared by the Americans on July 4, 1776. This independence was followed by a brief war, in which the Americans won.
The Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution happened in 1917 after the bond between the tsar and most of the Russian people had been broken. The government was inefficient and rampant; the tsar's reactionary policies had spread dissatisfaction even to moderate elements.
