Have you heard of the Lago Vista ISD Education Foundation?
We have been around for many years and are a foundation that fundraises to give grants to educators in our district. Those grants fund equipment and supplies for students. Lago Vista ISD students are the direct beneficiaries of all of our efforts.
We are currently looking for community volunteers to help with our Giving Tuesday Campaign. You can learn more about how to help and who we are at our website, https://www.lvisdeftx.com , or by emailing lvisdeftx@gmail.com.
When LVISD students thrive, our community does too!

Peace Poster
Here are the Point Venture Lions Peace Poster winners for 2022. The theme this year is "Lead with Compassion." Working with Ms. White, art teacher at Lago Vista Middle School, students ages 11, 12, or 13 years old, were asked to complete a poster using the theme for their ideas. Our first place winner for this year is Avelen Rodriguez and she will be moving on to the district competition. Second place was awarded to Sadie Darling, third place to Luke Waker, and Levi Corona received an honorable mention award.
A special thanks to Ms. White, the students for their participation in the project and an additional thanks to our judges, Laurie Glass, Keith Jordan, Carolyn Bass, and Cindy Wheeler.

Meet Your Teachers!
Mrs. Andrea Reedy-Patton
1) Where are you from originally?
My large family of 9 (including parents) are from a suburb outside of Chicago. Having 2 older brothers as part of our brood, I picked up on anything athletic very quickly (including wrestling 🙂 ), which led me to playing multiple sports up through high school. One sport in particular, springboard diving, opened doors into the University of Illinois, where I majored in Physical Education, of course!
2) What led you to become a teacher and how long have you been teaching?
After years exploring myself and the world around me in my 20’s, I hopped into a convertible like Thelma and Louise and headed west to New Mexico.New doors opened up wide, and it was here I found my husband, joined the world of Special Education at the University of New Mexico, reconnected to God, and got my first teaching job in a MS special education program. It was awesome!
3) Tell us about your family…
As an old saying goes, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage! Bob and I got married on a boat in Jamaica and shortly thereafter had our 2 daughters. Caroline, a graduate in Music from Texas State, is 25 and an ES music teacher in Katy, TX. Samantha, our 23 year old, manages a venue downtown called ATX The Jungle.
4) What are your favorite hobbies?
I have come full circle and really enjoy cooking and trying our new recipes. I’m a jigsaw puzzle junky (last count I have over 75 in a closet) and love swinging on my back porch. looking out at the greenbelt and its habitants, and growing a wide variety of succulents.
Bob and I are homebodies, watching lots of football, serving and attending church, eating out at our favorite Sushi restaurants, and planning for our next cruise!
5) What is your favorite part about your job?
Building relationships with the students, watching them explore new things and grow, talking about life. I particularly enjoy making them laugh! We all have a gifting, I feel I have found mine.
