REMINDER: Picture Day - Tuesday, September 24th
2nd Annual PTA Fun Run is next week!
The Fun Run is SIX days away and we are so excited! As of September 18th, student donations and business sponsorship's have totaled $17,892.99. That's amazing! We have one more collection on Wednesday, the 25th! Please turn in your envelopes then with your last donations! Congrats to everyone for their hard work!

Students will receive their Fun Run T-shirts on the 26th, the morning of the event, to wear that day. Let's make these last few days EPIC! Thank you!

Read at Home with the Principals
We love to read and want to include you and your students in the fun!
As we have done the past several years, Mr. Jacobsen and Mrs. Adams would love to read to your children in your home. Beginning in October, each month the Principals will visit a different home to read to students. If your student would like to be entered into the drawing for this fun event, please complete the on-line registration form below. Your entry form will automatically be submitted once you complete the information found on the form. Contest winners will be notified the week of Oct. 1st.
Fall Parent University
Fall 2019 Parent University - Raising Resilient Children: Developing a Growth Mindset by Jackie Rhew
The Fall 2019 D47 Parent University event will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Bernotas Middle School, 170 N. Oak St. in Crystal Lake. Clinical consultant and powerful speaker Jackie Rhew will provide essential tools for parents to help them build resiliency in their children. Parents will learn how to help children come out of their comfort zone, deal with making mistakes, accept criticism as part of the learning process, and take risks that may result in failure. This is a free event for ALL D47 families and Spanish translation will be provided. Childcare/kids’ activities will be provided for kids ages 3 and up by licensed District 47 staff. Children must be potty trained and registration is required. Activities for kids ages 5 and up include games and movement activities; mindfulness/yoga; and storytime by the Crystal Lake Public Library. Parking is available in the main lot at Bernotas and at St. Thomas church.
