Bear Den News
August 11, 2020
Dear Ayers Families,
Thank you to everyone who has already completed all of your registration tasks for Ayers Bears Day! We know that moving all of these steps online is new to our elementary families and we appreciate that you are learning right along with us.
I have received multiple inquiries around what student’s daily schedules will look like. While I can’t give you an exact breakdown of when live interaction vs. daily instruction will occur, it will follow these sample schedules (Click Here for 1st-5th and Click Here for TK-K). Teacher schedules will be posted on our website.
The district technology department has created a helpful FAQ that you may find helpful as you are completing your annual registration process and helping your child access their learning portals for the first time this school year. Student and Parent Technology FAQ
If you have not already done so, please take a moment to complete each one of these:
- If you have not yet completed your data validation (emergency card) on Aeries Homelink - Please Click Here
- If you have not yet scheduled your appointment for Ayers Bears Day - Please Click Here
If you have not yet completed the Chromebook and Internet Survey- Please Click Here.
If you have not yet opted in for the school messenger texting feature - Please Click Here
IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED YOUR DATA VALIDATION ON HOMELINK, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PICK UP CHROMEBOOKS OR INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS.
We understand that not all families feel comfortable with coming onto campus for this event. Please contact our school office, if you would like to make an appointment after these times, to make other arrangements.
Remember that when you arrive on campus the following rules apply to both adults and children:
Physical distancing of 6ft is required
Must Wear Face Covering
The blacktop and playground areas are in use by Dianne Adair and are NOT open for play.

Logging into Clever and Student Email
Each MDUSD student is issued an email address for use while enrolled in our school district. This email address is also used as their username for our single sign on service - Clever. Please make sure your child can login to Clever BEFORE the first day of school.
Student usernames (email address) can be found in their Aeries Homelink portal
Student user names are formatted as:
graduation year (2 numbers), first 2 letters of their first name and then the first 3 letters from the last name, with a 01, 02, @mdusd.net.
o Example: Thomas Tester a high school senior name would be: email@example.com
- Returning MDUSD students: passwords have not been reset. If your child needs to have their password reset please click on the reset password link on our school website homepage.
- New MDUSD students: The default password for your child is as follows (first initial of first name + first initial of last name + student ID: for example mt4416724) All student will be prompted to choose their own password upon first login.
- It is very important that you write down your child's password and help them learn it. We do NOT have access to your child's password at the school and can only reset the password to the default.
Aeries Homelink Parent Portal
Data verification forms for all Ayers Bears will only be available through Aeries Homelink. You must create a Homelink account to access and complete data verification BEFORE Ayers Bears Day to receive your classroom placement.
If you registered for a Homelink account in the past - you are all set to login.
If you do not have a Homelink account, you will need to access the verification code that was mailed home to you last week.
Follow the Data Confirmation Steps to complete your verification. You are not finished until you click the finish and complete button.
Please print and sign the verification of completion at the end of the Homelink process. This will be needed at Bears Day to receive classroom placement.
DOLLAR-A-DAY CHROMEBOOK RAFFLE
The PTA remains fully committted to bridging the financial gap between public funding and the true cost of the full educational experience we all want for our student at Ayers. Every single student benefits from the Ayers Dollar-A-Day Fund.
The 2020-2021 school year is starting off different than most but, Ayers PTA is still responsible for funding the following vital programs and staff for both present and future needs of our students!
The Ayers PTA spends approximately $180 each school year per student. In order to maintain and add to our current level of excellence we need your financial support so that all of our children will continue to receive a first-rate education at Ayers.
We know that ever family situation is different so the goal of the Ayers Dollar-A-Day Fund is to receive 100% participation regardless of the dollar amount. No amount is too small, and it will make a difference for our school.
Your $180 donation includes a PTA membership, 4 raffle tickets for a Lenova Chromebook Duet, and best of all knowing that your Tax-deductible donation allows you to feel NO other obligation for donations/fundraising for the rest of the school year!
Donate directly through Konstella BEFORE Ayers Bears Day and receive DOUBLE raffle tickets!
