A noun phrase is a part of a sentence that is performing the action or taking place

A verb phrase is the action taking place

Examples

  • I like to listen to music.

"I" is the noun phrase, and "like to listen to music" is the verb phrase

  • Batman rides in his batmobile.

"Batman" is the noun phrase, and "rides in his batmobile" is the verb phrase

  • We are going to take the vocabulary test.

"We" is the noun phrase, and "are going to take the vocabulary test" is the verb phrase.
