Fall Classroom Parties
On Thursday, October 31, 2019 we will be having our Fall Classroom parties. These parties are for students and volunteers working with the teachers. In order to ensure the safety of all of our students, we will be using the following guidelines for our school celebration.
In choosing an appropriate costume for your child, please adhere to the following:
· No costumes depicting excessive violence (no fake blood)
· No costumes that are offensive to any ethnic or religious group
· No Clowns
· No WEAPONS of any kind (squirt guns, plastic swords, knifes, etc.)
· Keep make-up to a minimum (there is only a short time given to students to get into costumes…save the best for trick-or-treating)
· NO ONE MAY WEAR MAKE-UP TO SCHOOL IN THE MORNING
· Be certain that your child can see through his/her mask.
Pre-K – 5th Grade
Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten will follow the Teachers Newsletter regarding specifics for the day. Students in Grades 1st – 5th should not wear any part of their costume to school in the morning (including hair coloring). All 1st – 5th grade students will be getting into their costumes after lunch and should come to school with everything they need for their costume. Students will not be allowed to use school phones to call home for any reason associated with Halloween. Please prepare in advance.
6th Grade Students
Sixth grade students will be going bowling on Thursday, October 31, 2019 for their party. If you have questions about this trip, please contact your classroom teacher. All 6th grade students must have a signed permission slip to attend.
Procedures
If you are volunteering in a classroom, please check in at the table near the main office when you arrive. It is our expectation that you remain in the classroom in which you are volunteering. With so many extra people in the building, it is important that we know who is here and where they are at all times. We also need to be certain that all volunteers leave by 1:30 pm so buses are able to park for dismissal.
Please discuss the above guidelines in regards to appropriate costumes with your child. We realize that some costumes come with accessories that are not appropriate for school but may be appropriate for home. Please stress that these accessories need to stay at home. Your child’s safety is our number one concern and we thank you for your cooperation. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
