Cordelia Hills Update

Message from the Principal

Good morning and welcome to another week at Cordelia Hills. We are close to wrapping up our second trimester. Grades will be available Tuesday, March 19th on Illuminate. Conferences follow that with minimum days on March 20-22 (dismissal at 11:40 for all students except preschool).

Please remember that the daycare area near the baseball fields is for daycare buses only. Please avoid that area. The vans are trying to make it to other schools. Additionally, there is a ton of foot traffic in that area and we want to reduce the number of vehicles in that area. I KNOW it is incredibly difficult to find street parking but please put safety first.

District Calendar: The 2019-2020 calendar is out. Check it out here. Please do your best to plan vacations, appointments, times away from school around the school calendar. We need every student here everyday that they are healthy.

Internet Safety

With the "MOMO Challenge" rumors popping up in school, a small snippet of information that I borrowed from a colleague.

MOMO has been around for over a year, but is popping up again. Most teachers have been talking to students about internet safety and responsibility and not to bring any of the “MoMo Challenge” language to school.

Thoughts to consider: Are you monitoring your child’s internet/phone usage? If not, you need to be. Each day there is something new out that is targeting children: drugs, sex, gaming, predators, you name it. Please be a safety advocate and talk to your child about responsible use. When students use the FSUSD district accounts at home or at school, we can see everything they do. Remember, the best safeguard is to talk with your child often about your expectations, rules and the permanence of what is online. Here are some great resources to help you: Parental App Controls, Internet Monitoring, Being Smart.
