Titan Staff News
Week of May 11
Titans,
Thanks to all of you for modeling a love of reading to our students! We have reached 904 books and are quickly approaching our goal of 1000! Monday will be a jeans day for reaching the 900 mark. We had 305 students who qualified to go on the reading reward field trip for reaching 25 books. This is a significant increase from last school year. However, we need to continue to build this program so that a larger percentage of our students are reading at this level. Research shows that if you read 25 books (or a million words), then you increase your vocabulary by 10,000 words. Truly mind-boggling when you think about it. How have you contributed to increasing student success through reading this year? What might you do differently next year?
Have a great week,
Kim
