Happy New Year!
Letters from World War I
We will be the guest speakers at the Petoskey Friends of the Library event Monday, January 28 at 7:00 PM. We will be discussing local residents' involvement in World War I. The event is held in the Carnegie building and is free of charge. We hope to see you there!
New Exhibit
As we enter the new year, we are planning our 2019 exhibit centered around Food and Drink. We're just getting started with our research and would love to know what you think. Please email us your stories, pictures, questions, and suggestions.
Topics
We would love to learn more about your favorite food-related places- from any time period!
Restaurants
Grocery stores
Farms and farm markets
Breweries and wineries
Bakeries and candy makers
Food-related events
What are we looking for?
We would love to hear your stories about local restaurants, stores, and anything else food related. In addition, if you have menus, photos, or artifacts that you are willing to share, please be in touch!
Home Cooking
What favorite family recipes can you share with us? Do you have a family or church cookbook? We would especially love to have recipes with local ingredients, or recipes created locally.
Food-Related Events
What else should we know? Maybe you won a blue ribbon at the fair for your fabulous chocolate cake, or entered a watermelon seed-spitting contest at a Fourth of July picnic. Are there any food events from our past that you wish were still around?
Questions?
What questions do you have that we can try to answer through our research? What are you wondering related to food and drink? Is there a restaurant you vaguely remember from your childhood and want to know more about? Are you curious about food prices throughout the years? Let us know!
