Testing
Dear Parents,
I am writing to inform you about the upcoming Utah RISE testing, which will be administered to all students at our school. The Utah RISE is a state-mandated test that measures students' proficiency in English language arts, mathematics, and science.
The Utah RISE test is an important tool for educators to evaluate how well students are mastering the knowledge and skills required by the Utah State Standards. The test provides valuable information about each student's strengths and weaknesses, and it helps teachers to identify areas where students may need additional support.
This year, the Utah RISE test will be administered to students in grades 3 through 8. The testing window is from March 27th to May 19th, and specific testing dates will be communicated to you by your child's teacher. At Mt. Nebo, we will be testing in late April and early May.
We understand that testing can be stressful for both students and parents, but we want to assure you that we are committed to creating a supportive and positive testing environment for all students. We encourage you to talk to your child about the importance of the test and to help them feel confident and prepared.
To assist you in preparing your child for the Utah RISE test, we recommend that you review their class materials and communicate regularly with their teacher. If you have any questions or concerns about the Utah RISE test, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We also have a tool where students can look up their scores from the previous year. It requires them to only be logged into their Google account. Scoring scales are also included. RISE Student Report 21-22. This is a great opportunity to look at how students have done in the past and set a goal for this year. We are really hoping students will try their best and show how much they have grown.
We appreciate your partnership in ensuring the success of all students at our school.
Sincerely,
Mt. Nebo Middle School
Estimados padres,
Atentamente,
Escuela Secundaria Monte Nebo
Art Show
Student's are invited to submit work for the annual Middle School/Junior High art show!
The show will take place from May 4 until May 30 in the upper gallery of the Covey Events Center. We will be taking ten pieces from Mt Nebo to display.
For information on how to submit a piece of work, talk to Mr. Hunt.
Art Opportunity
If you like doing art or would like to learn how, there is an art class available through part of the summer. The class teaches how to create the vision you have in your mind using your own style. The exercises are diverse and help you think outside of the box. It is Tuesday mornings in Springville or Monday evenings online. The class is taught by an artist who currently works for Lucasfilm Animation and Disney as an assistant technical director on their Star Wars tv shows. All skill levels are welcome. All you need is an iPad and a stylus (like an Apple Pencil). Check out sharpenedstylus.com or call Nathan Allen, the instructor, at 747-231-1178 for more details and to sign up.
