Water Ripple Program For Africa
The Water Crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
PICTURES
The Big Problem In The Democratic Republic Of The Congo
The problem with the Democratic Republic of the Congo is that the water is polluted with natural things like microscopic bugs, snails, animal droppings, and children who step in the water. This untreated water can make people ( especially younger kids) sick with water born diseases such as Diarrhea, Typhoid fever, and Hooke Worm. Younger kids are the main target for water born diseases because they have weak immune systems. One in every ten deaths of kids in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are caused by these water born diseases. Please help me to help these children and families in Africa, because one less death equals one less family that has to go through the pain and suffering from the death of their child or children.

This shows the Congo River. It is dark. muddy, and dirty. This river is filled with many microorganisms that can cause harm to your body.
How To Help
Before people ask how can I help, they need to know how to define pure water. Pure water should be clear, oderless, and clean. That is how the water should look like when african people drink it, but in truth it doesn't and they still drink it because they cannot survive without water. Our goal here in the Water Ripple Program for Africa is to provide pure and clean water to all the people in Africa. We have been thinking of many ways to achieve our goal such as adding liquid chlorine or iodine to the water to eliminate viruses, protozoa, or bacteria. However, the best technique is to make a system where the water gets filtered multiple times to ensure that the water is safe to drink. These systems are also beneficial because no chemicals will be used in the process of purifying the water. This system will be put by the Congo River. unfortuanatley, this system will cost alot of money. However, we are very lucky and grateful that we have a company that is donating most of the materials and labor, but we still have to raise $10,000.00, so this is where you come in. Please come join us for the first annual Water Ripple Program for Africa walk. There will be games, raffles, live music , and crafts. We have several sponsers for this fantastic event ( Jackie's Jewlery, Crazy Cakes, Amber's Art, Teddy Bear Toys, Rockin Music, Cravey Candy, and Etc...) that will be selling many delightful items at their booths. There will also be educational booths on Africa and their lifestyles. Also, don't forget to bring your children to take pictures with Santa Claus and his elves! This is an exciting event that will be filled with fun and laughter! You don't want to miss it, so make sure to mark your calendars! The actual walk will begin at 11:00 and end at 12:00 on December 22, 2012. The whole event will go on until 4:00 pm. Some of the parts to make the filter has been donated by The Helping Hands Foundation, but we still need to meet our fundraising goal of $10,000 . The admission fee is $25.00 for ages 12 and up and $15.00 for ages four to eleven, kids ages three and under come in for free. Please remember that all the proceeds will be donated to help fund the filter being made for the people living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Please help us by attending this event, and if you would like to volunteer contact us at 678-943-1111. We will start by helping the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and by helping all the countries in Africa. Thank you for all of your love and support to help this very important cause.
