Dolphin Digest
Weekly Update #4
August 26th, 2022
Dear WMES Families,
Happy Friday! Our theme this year is "White Marsh is Out of this World!" We are almost ready to "blast-off into another successful year!" We are so excited to see all of our students on Monday, August 29th. Just a reminder that buses may be 5-10 minutes early or late. We encourage all students to ride the "mode" (bus, car, walker) of transportation DAY 1 that they are assigned during the school year! Also, parents will not be able to walk their child to class. Thank you for understanding.
Medication-
Please send in updated medication administration forms for any daily medication or as needed medication. Also noted that all medication needs to be hand delivered to the nurse, medication can not be sent in through your student.
For our New Pre-K and K Families
Practice eating "school lunch" with your child. Please practice having them open each item they have for lunch. Encourage them to eat within 20-25 minutes, and allow them to clean up their area by throwing away their trash. This practice will help prepare them for school lunch, which can be a big adjustment. We appreciate your help and support in preparing your child for their school experience!
School Meals
Breakfast will be FREE for all WMES students. This is an important update. Effective August 29, lunch will NOT be free for all students this year unless you qualify. We are encouraging ALL families to complete the FARMS application to see if you qualify. Our school receives funding for this so please complete. Applications need to be filled out on-line. If you need a paper copy, please call the school. Please click the links below for information and to complete the online application.
- Elementary Lunch: $2.65

Another helpful hint for students who are going to be car riders to/from school: Please begin having your child practice buckling and unbuckling their seatbelts. This will foster independence while keeping the car rider line moving quickly!
Bus assignments and pick-up/drop-off times are available in PowerSchool and also will be confirmed at your "Meet the Teacher" conference(s).
Please review our WMES Handbook. WMES will be enforcing the the dress code policy so please review. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RSkSE3__ECCGdfcdAfdj2W4xR-V7jETRKfwvdoUFzOY/edit?usp=sharing
Any questions, please ask.
School Supplies
Great news that our Grandparent's Club will be providing pencil boxes and supplies to fill them for each child at WMES. Of course, our school will always welcome donations of anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, and paper towels!
