Dear parents,

Wow! This year flew by! What an amazing year and group of students! Thank you so much for your dedication as a parent in helping your child grow and improve.

I will miss each and every student and appreciate their differences they brought to my classroom this year. It was a privilege to watch their personalities grow day by day and see how they have developed in their learning.

Enjoy this last month of your child being in grade one and best of luck to all families next year whether you are going or staying at Aspen Grove. Keep in touch and enjoy your summer!

Important information:

SPCA Art Fundraiser - The students in our class were very concerned of the recent closing of the Grande Prairie and District SPCA. We talked about how important this organization is for the animals in our city, and many shared stories of a family pet they have gotten from the local SPCA. We decided as a class we would like to do something to help. All the students have worked very hard at creating an art on canvas of a dog or a cat. These art projects are available to purchase for a minimum donation of $10 each. Parents and families will get first dibs at purchasing the artwork, so send in your donations and we will mark them as sold. Then come Wednesday, all remaining portraits will be up for sale to the general public.

Teddy Bear Picnic- After a fun year of buddy reading with Mrs. Mahoney's grade 3 class, we will be celebrating by having a teddy bear picnic. Please bring a towel and teddy bear Friday for our picnic outside!

Table Talk

This is where I share a few things that we have been learning in class, great discussion for at the dinner table (hence “Table Talk”)!

These last two weeks have been dominated by ducks! Reading, writing, science you name it! Our class was lucky enough to watch a duckling hatch out of the egg right before our eyes! It is pretty amazing! Make sure you stop by to take a peek at the grade one ducklings!
