Big picture

Odysseyware

Odysseyware is the core curriculum provider for CVVA - they will provide the majority of core courses for CVVA students. Some tips regarding Odysseyware:

  1. OW has an internal messaging portal, but teacher messages also send to Genius as well. I recommend using your district email when possible, so everything is in one place.
  2. Due dates are suggestions only - you will have assignments shown as "due" over school breaks such as winter break. Please follow the pacing provided by the district.
  3. You can work ahead - make sure you navigate using the "Courses" tab to continue working past what has been "assigned"
  4. The courses tab will allow you to see your live grade book, without waiting for the 24-hour sync to Genius to occur
  5. Everything is built into the OW system - however, for written work, I recommend creating a Google Doc and then copying/pasting your work over to the OW text box prior to submitting it. This way you do not risk losing your work.

Accelerate Education

Accelerate Education will also provide some courses for CVVA students. They use a learning management system called Buzz - you'll find their navigation to be identical to eDynamic, whom you can read about a bit further below. Some tips specific to Accelerate Ed:

  1. When signing in, make sure to verify your email. If you do not verify, you will not receive communication from your instructors.
  2. Live grade book information can be found by clicking the three lines in the bottom right of the course icon card. Checking here also allows you to view teacher feedback on your assignments.
  3. You must work in order for Accelerate Ed.
  4. Journal prompts are within the lessons, ensure you are reading carefully to find these. Journal entries should include prompt AND response - do these in a Google doc and then submit at one time.
  5. You cannot use the choose Google doc button when submitting, your teacher cannot open these. Similar to OW, I would answer in a google doc, then copy and paste into AE's text box. If deciding to submit, download your work in Google as Word or PDF, then select "choose file" in AE.

eDynamic

eDynamic provides elective courses for CVVA students. They use the same LMS as Accelerate Education so the navigation remains the same. A few notes regarding eDynamic:

  1. Again, ensure you verify your email. If you do not, you will not receive communications from your instructor
  2. Live grade book information can be found by clicking the three lines in the bottom right of the course icon card. Checking here also allows you to view teacher feedback on your assignments.
  3. Assignments MUST include the questions and answers
  4. eDynamic allows you to skip around, this is so you can access the podcast at the end of the unit if you prefer to listen to your lessons
  5. You cannot use the choose Google doc button when submitting, your teacher cannot open these. Similar to OW, I would answer in a google doc, then copy and paste into eDyanmic's text box. If deciding to submit, download your work in Google as Word or PDF, then select "choose file" in eDyanmic.
