attendance policy reminder

Please remember that if your child is not in school, he/she is marked absent. It is important that you communicate with the school each time your child is absent, to remain in compliance with the attendance policy. Parents should call the school and leave a message in mailbox #1 with the name of the student as well as the date and reason for the absence. This information is documented daily. While your child's absence will still stand, when we have record of your communication with us and reason for the absence, it will help if your child should reach the 10 or 15 day threshold of absences.

volunteer hours

Thank you for giving a minimum of two volunteer hours for our recent Fall Fest. Please be sure that you log your hours on Renweb. *See the Resource section below for instructions on how to log your hours.

Many families have already reached the required 20 volunteer hours. THANK YOU! Please continue to document your volunteer hours as we have to report the total number of hours volunteered annually to the Diocese. We want to give you credit for every minute that you give back to SJCS. Thank you!

booster orders

The Booster Club is now accepting orders for hoodies, t-shirts, etc. Please remember that all parents are required to wear a SJCS shirt when they chaperone a field trip. This is a great opportunity to order your shirt if you plan to go on a field trip later in the school year, as we do not keep a stock of most of these items. Orders and payment are due Friday, November 18th. Order online and make a payment through the school office - see the link below.

sweets with santa

Gospel Reading this Sunday

While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, "All that you see here--
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down."

Then they asked him,
"Teacher, when will this happen?
And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?"
He answered,
"See that you not be deceived,
for many will come in my name, saying,
'I am he,' and 'The time has come.'
Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first,
but it will not immediately be the end."
Then he said to them,
"Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues
from place to place;
and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.

"Before all this happens, however,
they will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives." -Lk 21:5-19

St. Joseph Prayer

O Blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector of Mary, the virgin Mother of God, I choose you this day to be my special patron and advocate and I firmly resolve to honor you all the days of my life. Therefore, I humbly ask you to receive me as your client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction, to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus, and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen.
