Big picture

C.K. Price has a spirit week every quarter. This promotes positive campus culture and school spirit. It is fun to watch the students see what each other wears. They can learn new things about each other. Our first Spirit Week of the Year is September 16-20 beginning with a rally on Friday, September 13th. The Spirit day themes are listed below.


Monday - Sports teams.Wear you favorite sports team logo! If you don't have any apparel just wear Yellow and Blue for the CK colors.


Tuesday - College Day: Wear your college Gear! If you don't have any, wear read and white for Chico State!


Wednesday - Workout Wednesday: Wear you workout gear! Or just wear Black and White!


Jersey Day! Wear your Sports Jersey! If you don't have one wear the color Grey!


FOOTBALL FRIDAY! Wear your Aztecs football gear! If you don't have any just wear blue and white, to support ORLAND!!!!

School Pictures and Identification Cards

Preview Sheets were sent home on September 10 and 11. Please don't forget to order your pictures online or fill out the envelope and have your child drop it off at the office.

We will be doing something new with the identification cards this year. Every student will have their ID cards and will be able to purchase an ASB sticker for their game and dance ticket discounts.

Gear Up Informational Night

Come have some Round Table Pizza and meet one of our new counselors! Bailey Moss is with Gear UP. It is a program associated with University of California. She is will be following and working with the 7th grade class/Class of 2021 until they graduate from Orland High School. It is a program to motivate students to succeed through middle school and high school.


The yearbook class is working hard on the 2019-2020 Yearbook. The yearbook will be at its lowest price of $38 until September 27th. A $10 deposit before September 27th will lock in that price! Yearbook class will have sales open during lunch on September 18th.


You can order the yearbook online using the link. The $10 Deposit agreement is not available online and must be done at the school.


Time to apply for Fall Semester CJSF! 8th graders, come get an application from Miss Leland in Room 24. All applications are due on Friday, September 20th.

The purpose of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is to foster high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship on the part of students of the high schools of California.

This Week in Sports


Monday the 16th games at Chico Country Day. 7th grade at 4pm and 8th grade at 5pm.

Thursday the 18th games at home vs. Durham. 7th grade at 4pm and 8th grade at 5pm.


Monday the 16th games at Woodson in Corning at 4pm

Wednesday the 18th games at OHS (home game) vs. Richfield at 4pm

Thursday the 19th games at OHS (home game) vs. Richfield at 4pm

Glenn County Spelling Bee

The Glenn County Spelling Bee will be held October 15, 2019. Interested students must qualify by by taking a test. Two students from each grade (6-8) will move on to the Glenn County Spelling Bee. Students can pick up a practice word test in the library and the qualifying test will be on September 27, 2019. Any questions should be directed to Ms. O'Brien in the library, 865-1225 ext 4305.



When checking out your student during the school day you are welcome and encouraged to call in advance. This gives us the opportunity to send a slip to your student in their classroom and have them ready. On assembly days tend to be hard to find. If you call in the morning, we can have the student at the office and not in the assembly or we can give you a pick up time prior to the start of the assembly.


If you plan on taking your child out of school for more than five consecutive days (for family vacations, family emergencies, and trips out of the country) please contact the office to obtain a Short Term Independent Study Agreement for your child. Failure to arrange for a Short Term Independent Study Agreement will result in all absences being unexcused. Unexcused absences will be referred to the District Truant Officer. The office needs You must notify the school five days prior to leaving for a short term absence.
