Custodian Needed

Cooper Landing School is in desperate need of a custodian! The shift is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week and lasts through May 23. You get summers off (what a deal!) and start up again on August 2. You get 6 paid holidays, 2 weeks off at Christmas (unpaid), and spring break in March (unpaid). And the best part is the appreciation of staff and students who will be forever grateful for a clean, tidy school! You can also apply to be a substitute custodian and choose your work days.

If you are interested, please contact Tommy Gossard or Donna Tucker at the school. We can give you a tour and an idea of what the job entails. Call 907-595-1244 or email tgossard@kpbsd.k12.ak.us or dtucker@kpbsd.k12.ak.us.

Hope School Happenings

Hello Students and Parents,

We will have testing over the next few weeks and respectfully request that you refrain from picking up the students from Tuesday through Thursday during this brief period. Testing will take place in both Mrs. Peck and Mr. McKibben's classroom. Testing is an important time for quiet . Each student is required to have silence during the time of the testing. All necessary testing tools, such as calculators, etc. shall be provided within the testing application. Cell phones are prohibited during testing. All cell phones will be collected prior to testing. Each student will be required to power it down before we collect the cell phones. We encourage students to get plenty of rest during testing days and have a little breakfast for brain power. Please note to speak with your child about these points.

We have been busy making drums at the Hope School. You can check it out on the Hope School District page or you may see it on Hope School Facebook page. Each student was able to make their own drum. The supplies were provided for the students. They attentively followed instructions and enthusiastically began making their drums. Each student also received a booklet or pages of interesting patterns to paint on their drums to personalize it. This was a wonderful and unique opportunity to help the children appreciate indigenous cultures in Alaska. Thank you to Mrs. Pioch from KPBSD Indigenous Education Program.

Please remember to read below for important dates pertaining to upcoming events. We have a vacation day this Friday, April 7th, 2023. Both students and staff are off for this day. We hope all of you enjoy your three day weekend. It is hard to believe the last day of school is only approximately 7 weeks away. The district has worked so hard on the online forms and registration processes for our District and we appreciate them so much. This should make registration a simple one and done for all of you parents.

Please remember that an immunization records portal is available for you at https://docket.care/ . This is an easy one and done process to obtain these records. Our Nurses hope you find this link helpful. Thank you Nurse Miller for sharing this with us. Thank you also to our Nursing Services Department for keeping us up to date with information to best help our students.
