Language Arts

Now that we have finished reading Bud, Not Buddy, the students have started on their next big ELA assignment. Each student is writing their own personal narrative while following the elements expected to be included in a plot chart.

By the end of this process, each of the students will understand the writing process and will have a finished product they can be proud of! Be on the look out for an opportunity to come in for an author's tea!

Social Studies

We are continuing to work on Ancient Egypt, and the students are extremely excited! Along with determining how Ancient Egypt still affects society today, we are focusing on important figures, events and places from it's past.

The students have been broken into groups of 3 or 4 in order to complete their next project. Each member of the group is responsible for researching a different influential figure in Egyptian history. Once they have completed their research, the students will create 3-D pyramids of information about what they learned.

Valentine's Day Celebration

We will be having a Valentine's day celebration in class. If you would like to send in a treat to share with the class, please do so on February 14th. Please remember that any snacks must be store bought and have the nutritional labels on them. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have!
