WBMS Friday Notes
March 25-29
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
Last Friday Night’s Talent Show was beyond amazing! Dancers, Singers, Rock Bands, Pianist, Comedians – WBMS is filled with incredibly brave and talented students and watching them share their gifts was joyous! This week our 8th grade band earned the honor to perform at the Southeastern Regional Concert Festival, giving them the distinction as one of the top secondary (middle/high school) bands in the Southeastern United States. I was thrilled to be included and was beaming with pride as they played a variety of challenging pieces!
We ended the week with yet another incredible event! WBMS is one of two middle schools in the state that was asked to participate in the inaugural Georgia Chief Science Officer initiative, and our two student Science Officers, with guidance from our staff, planned our first ever STEAM day. Close to 50 individuals or groups participated, and our 6th graders had the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and participate in hands on learning. Watching the vision of two students positively impact our learning community was the perfect way to end the week!
Spring Break is here and I hope that whatever you do, you enjoy your time together as a family! Be safe, Jaguars!
In collaboration -
Rebecca Williams Perkins
Principal, Webb Bridge Middle School
