Mrs. Tourville's 3rd Grade Gazette
Happy New Year!
Happy Winter Break!
Wow, we had a busy, busy past few weeks! I hope all of you find time to play a game, take a walk outside, read a book and enjoy some well deserved time with your wonderful children.
Upcoming Math: Beginning January 4th, we will be taking on MULTIPLICATION! This past week we had the opportunity to work on multi-digit addition/subtraction, constructing our own "Array Cities" (on display in the hallway) and tackled the minute to minute reading of a clock.
Upcoming Literacy/Writing: The week of January 4th, we will wrap up our research unit on Sound and Light and begin our author study on David Adler and CURSIVE writing. Through out this unit your child will write biographies, construct timelines, and dig in to the richness of Adler's work.
Homework: Please make sure your child is reading/turning in their yellow reading graphs, word study papers, and writing book reports for the 40 Book Challenge.
