NEW!!! Spotlight on Specials
iRun
Time to run/walk a 5K as a school!!! Please help our school support the 5K BYOT irun 2019! It is a 5K Run/Walk on October 12, starting at 8:00am, at Shiloh Point. I'm the team captain for Mashburn.
Oh….and YES….there is officially a competition between all the schools….so now it is just “on!!!!”
What we are running for:
Over 2,000 families in Forsyth County do not have Internet in their homes. With so much of the schoolwork requiring online access, we want to make a difference in the lives of those who do not have the same privileges as others.
In five years, the Forsyth BYOT Benefit has raised over $300,000 to put Internet in the homes and devices in the hands of students.
What we need to do:
Sign up for the iRun! Get your grade level to sign up! Show some Mashburn love and lets have THE MOST PARTICIPANTS of any other school!! You know a ton of us run (or walk) these 5K's all the time--why not do one together to help our kids! Bring your family!! When you sign up, on the emergency contact page, it asks if you are running for a school, and then you can mark what school you are from. Make sure you mark it so Mashburn gets credit! If you can't be there, there is also a way you can donate/sign up as a "phantom runner" and indicate that you are "running" for Mashburn…so we can still show our support for this!!
Packet pickup will be at the BOE on the afternoon of October 11th from 11:30-6:00 pm (I will be happy to pick up packets for whoever needs me to and have them there race day morning)!

Cost: $25.00 (+3.00 sign up): this goes directly to funding technology for Forsyth County kids. If you are like me, you look for events like this where the fee goes to a good cause...what better cause than the kids in our own county!
To sweeten the deal a little:
1.The first 10 people who sign up OR donate (show me their confirmation), get to choose between a "Wear what you want," pass or a “leave with the buses” pass!!
2. The FIRST Grade Level Team that gets ALL members to sign up OR donate as a “phantom runner,” get breakfast for the team AND 10 minutes extra recess for your grade level!
YOU WILL HAVE TO BE THE FIRST TO SHOW ME THAT ALL MEMBERS HAVE SIGNED UP OR DONATED…(My room number is Room 130)
3. The Second Place Winner for #2: ALL members sign up OR donate (OR the team with the most signed up/donate), gets breakfast for their team.
This invitation and challenge comes straight from Dr. Bearden--let's surround him and our kids with some Mashburn pride!
Thank you so much for your help!
Please let me know if you have any questions-
Please help us support the Forsyth BYOT Benefit by registering to run (or be a phantom runner).

Spotlight on SIOP Strategies: Four Corners
This activity lends itself well to introducing a topic or chapter of study. Write one question or idea on each chart paper. Divide class into 4 groups, each group has a different color marker. Each student group moves to one corner chart and a designated student begins writing their ideas on the chart. Students then move clockwise to next corner, read responses and add their comments.

Badges Not Working at Copier
We wanted to remind everyone that the pin field has been disabled, as of October 1st. Any teachers that can’t use their badge at the copier will need to fill out the Google Form provided.
All users can still use their district User Name and Password to login and make copies, scans, or print and release.
