THE place for your information literacy needs
Scholastic Book Fair May 18th-22nd
The time has come for some end of the year book fun! Our goal is to sell 400 books or $2,000 (I think we can do way more)! The message is to get your summer reads during the book fair to support our library! If your core/English class has not signed up yet, you can do so HERE. The book fair will be open during open house, which is on the 21st. Remind your parents to come through the library to purchase summer reads for their kiddos! Our online site is http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/loscerros
This link is also posted on the school loop library page! I will also be prompting you to come to the library to fill out your Wish List, so students can buy you a little parting gift before school is out.
Actively Learn
Actively Learn was one of my favorite tools to use in the classroom. There are so many different online close reading tools out there, but this one ranked #1 for me! You can customize any article or reading experience for your students, you get up to date feedback and progress. I get weekly e-mails from Actively Learn that shares current event articles and texts that other educators have uploaded and shared! Talk about insta-mentor text! This a great place to search for content and additional literature to supplement your curriculum. I can give you a tutorial OR I can make layers (embedded content) for you!
View The Lottery example text here! If it prompts you for a username and password; Username: my srvusd e-mail
Password: panthers
Click on anything that is highlighted in the text to give you more information (words - definitions, punctuation at the end - embedded video).
Click here for Actively Learn's featured content. Also, browse to see what literature and articles they have!

Shmoop Representative
Bring your lunch to the library to hear what Stephanie from Shmoop has to say! There is a lot more to Shmoop than meets the eye, so maybe there is something in there for you!!
