Forensic odontologists are highly experienced, specially trained dentists who use their expertise to help identify unknown remains and trace bite marks to a specific individual.
Requirements
To work in the field of odontology you must have a bachelor's degree prior to admission to dental school, doctoral degree in dental medicine or dental surgery, and some dental specializations require completion of a residency also.

Although we are all born with the same number and type of teeth, the dental pattern of each individual is unique and differ. Most people have dental records, but if not these can be created through making a dental impression from a suspect.
