Be on the lookout...
Starting next week, Family Partnership Charter School (an ASD school) will be sending out emails to families with students that need additional immunizations. If you receive this email, you have until November 20, 2020 to comply. Contact Michaela @ firstname.lastname@example.org or 742-3700 with questions or concerns.
Below is an excerpt from ASD's Healthcare Services webpage:
Alaska state law requires all school children to be immunized in order to attend school. ASD follows the state’s strict requirement of “No Shots, No School” and requires proof of immunization at enrollment. By law, a student is not allowed to attend classes unless they are compliant with immunization requirements. The exceptions to this are a valid Alaska state medical or religious exemption (must be notarized) or a 30 day waiver for those who are in the Child in Transition or active duty military dependents who have just been relocated to Anchorage. (Military and Homeless waivers required by federal law)

Sponsor Teacher Spotlight
Our Sponsor Teacher Shelby Theriault:
I am super excited to be back at Family Partnership! Here's a little about me..... I am a life-long Alaskan. I graduated from UAA with honors and served as Vice President of the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society. I have also taught classes and was a sponsor teacher for Family Partnership for a few years, grades K-12.
As a family, we love the outdoors! We love to camp, fish and hike. We also love baseball! Our sons plays on several teams, including a traveling team, which makes the flexibility of the program a perfect fit for us. I'm also a horse person. I grew up showing horses and continue my love of equines.
I am passionate about homeschooling and all of the options parents have to guide their children's education. We have a son that is going into 8th grade this year, and he is dual enrolled, which means he has some classes online through Goldenview Middle School and some classes through Family Partnership. Even he is excited about having so many choices! I look forward to serving the families of Family Partnership and getting all of the 'new to the program' parents up and running!
