TOPIC: Term 3 Grading Verification
DUE DATE: 4/20/2020
DESCRIPTION: (From Dr. Mensa) For the past few weeks we have been working in the Design Team to develop a clear plan for how we will approach grading for the 3rd and 4th Term in the online learning environment. It was extremely important to consider all options for finalizing Term 3 as those decisions have an impact on the plans for Term 4 grading. We shared plans for Term 3 and 4 with the Board and will continue to inform you in detail during a Townhall meeting. Currently, we are prepared to share the timeline for Term 3 verification which many of you have started already. Please review the timeline.

DESCRIPTION: Student Password Reset Instructions for Teachers (previously provided Fall 2019) to reset HS, MS & ES Student passwords, as necessary. High School and Middle School Student password resets are covered in Account Management Teacher Job Aid.pdf and Elementary School Student password resets are covered in StudentInfo – Job Aid – ElementaryPasswordReset.pdf. There are two processes are because HS & MS students *can* reset their own passwords (the password reset process sets a ‘temporary’ password that the HS or MS Student must change) while ES students can only use their assigned password (their password is simply reset to the original value if forgotten). Teachers *must* be on the District network at a campus or remote via VPN (Remote Access – VPN – for District Staff.pdf).

Description: Please communicate to your staff that for those families who request a laptop or hotspot we are using the following guidelines:
· Due to limited supply, one loaner laptop will be issued for each family at 3 students for each device. Due to limited supply, one loaner hotspot will be issued per family, regardless of the number of students. The family must specifically request a hotspot in order to receive one. These loaner devices are to be returned when we return to normal operations. Device's care and use information is included. An At-Home Learning Support Center has been established to assist parents and students with technical issues and other instructional needs. The number is 281-634-0826. Centralized device deployment from Marshall HS and Austin HS is scheduled this week from April 7 – 9.Families who have requested a device will be assigned a pickup location based on their feeder pattern. Families who have not requested a device should be instructed to contact their campus, speak to a teacher or call the At-Home Learning Support Center. They will then be assigned a pickup location. We have a limited amount of devices and an even more limited number of hotspots. We asked that if a family has the means to provide online connectivity please use it. We have many families in the District that do not have either device or an Internet connection.
