From Mrs. Ray
Hello Birmingham Bears!
Look what we are doing during guidance this rotation! This rotation will finish the week after Spring Break.
Kinder and 1st- Both grade levels are still learning how to stay safe using our WHO rules with Heidi Owl and her friends in this wonderful anti-victimization program. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
2nd Grade- We are learning how to have a positive attitude even when things don’t go our way. As Pete the Cat says, “It’s all good!”
3rd Grade- Students will learn different strategies on how to relax under pressure as they approach their first STAAR test later this May. They all did such a great job during checkpoints this week! So proud of them!!
4th Grade- Students will continue our job and college unit by researching three colleges of their choice. I love seeing them getting excited about different careers and colleges!
What Else is Coming Up for Wylie Way?
Safety Patrol- Green Group- Feb 26-March 23
March 5-March 8- District College Week- See flyer about dress up days!

A Note From Nurse Abby...
Hey Bears!
Clinic traffic definitely slowed down this week! I’m sure that had to do with testing on Monday and Tuesday, but my hope is that we have turned a corner and the flu at BES is behind us!! So happy to have healthy Bears! Please remind your children to wash their hands frequently, especially before eating. Hand hygiene is the best way to prevent the spread of illness. Enjoy the sunshine this weekend!
Stay healthy!
Nurse Abby
From the Library…
There are so many good things happening in the library!!
1: We are going DIGITAL with our reading challenge. Go to www.biblionasium.com and sign in as "student." I have input all the students.
Sign On: Lunch number+first letter of first name+first letter of last name.
Password: BES2018
Example: John Doe Lunch Number 12345 Username: 12345JD
I am hoping that everyone logs on and uses this tool. There is already a challenge loaded for Feb/Mar. Your student goes in, puts in their minutes, what they are reading and summits. I pull the report at the end of the month, see who has completed the challenge, and give prizes accordingly.
To get started, I am looking at another incentive. I am going to log in on Friday, March 2 and see who has logged in. I'm going to be looking for their aviator change. :) It's fun for the kids to choose their own. I hope you all have fun with this and look forward to your feedback.
Happy Reading,
Mrs. April
