DoJo
Great job in sending out the reminders consistently with your parents who have signed up YET!
Please remember the expectations of communications with DoJo - which is communicate weekly - be sure to include units of study for each content!
Great job in giving out points! Please invite Andi as a Teacher so that she can give out points rather than ask you to give points she wants to give.
MAPS Accommodations
If you child requires accommodations per their IEP/504 plans - be sure to implement them during your testing times!
If a student is needing a quiet one on one setting, we will have laptops in the office!
September's Theme
Please be sure to remind students of this month's theme: WE believe in YOU! Build that self confidence and have them start believing in themselves!
Each month we will have a new theme: Next month's theme is My Brain is like a Muscle (there will be a DoJo video at our next Rally)

PBIS Up-Date
Due to not having our Staff Meeting on Tuesday, here is an up-date from Sunset's PBIS Team!
**Great job with DoJo - high rate of sign up from EVERY class also many teachers issuing points - NICE JOB
**Lunch Time - will be working on behavior/noise - with various colored cones
**Rallies will include DoJo video to announce the new month's focus, celebrate AR readers, PAWS Luncheon (teachers will prepare the Monster Stat on the child they choose, and these will be announced during the Rally, no more drawing - trying to save time - and then the Monster Stats will be read throughout the week during announcements and posted in the lobby area - document will be shared so all you have to do is fill it out), and then attendance (this will be done on 3 levels - Gold, Silver, Bronze - to allow for absences to occur if they are truly sick)
**We will also Post our Go-Getters each month and hold a luncheon that we will use their certificate to purchase their lunch and invite their parent/guardian, adult of their choice - tables will be decorated for this time
**Teachers/Staff and Halloween - BEGIN PLANNING NOW (if you want to participate) - Teachers will dress as their favorite monster
**October 1 - October Count - super important that students attend on this day for funding purposes - we will send students home with stickers and post through DoJo the importance of this day - an incentive to attend will be that students/staff will wear PJ's and get a bag of Popcorn ( a P and P day)
Lastly - the PBIS team is doing a book study around Josten's Renaissance - which is building a culture of recognition of parents, students and staff. We have already gave a Thank You candy bar to our Bus Drivers - we are planning on Oct. 1 to hand out waters to all parents/guardians that drop their child off - more to come - a gesture to show our Thanks for getting their child to school.
Please ask a PBIS team member if you have questions! More exciting things to come - stay tuned!
