Chocolate Sales

GENERAL INFORMATION & UPDATES

MAP Test Results

Parents/Guardians,

Student MAP test information from last spring will be going out over this week to your home mailbox. So please be on the lookout for this information. !

END OF DAY - TRANSPORTATION

We ask that you notify the office prior to 3:00 with any transportation changes for students that day.


This timeline allows us to communicate these changes to the teacher, while also supporting the daily routines and processes that occur during this busy part of the day.


Student checkout:

It is difficult to check students out after 3:00 PM. If there is a need to check students out early for an appointment, please avoid the 3:00-3:15 PM timeframe.


Thank you for partnering with us to ensure the safety for all ETMS Bison during dismissal.

BISON FAN DAY!

Our first Bison Fan Day will be on Tuesday, September 19th, for the ETMS Football game.


This is a fun activity where students get to cheer on the ETMS Football Team. Any 6th-8th grade student may sign up. Students will need to be picked up at 5:45PM .


Parents,

If your student plans to attend you will need to fill out the permission form that will be linked in the September 17th Trail Talk newsletter. Students will NOT be able to stay after school if parents have not filled out the form prior to the event.

ATHLETIC EVENTS - ETMS

Student spectators may not attend ETMS athletic events without an adult.

Bison Fan Days are the exception.

Counseling Office

Dear Caregivers,


As your student’s School Counselor, it is our privilege to partner with families and teachers to provide programs and services to help students achieve success in school. The knowledge, attitudes and skills students acquire during middle school in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development serve as building blocks for future success.


This year, our school counseling team has the opportunity to partner with Advisory teachers and MOCSA to help us educate our students in grades six through eight. Your student will receive lessons based on the Missouri State School Counseling Standards:


  • Bullying

    • SE 2: Exhibit mutual respect and compromise in relationships.

    • SE 2: Review and implement strategies to resolve problems and conflicts successfully.

    • SE 3: Apply personal safety strategies as they relate to violence and harassment.

  • Conflict Resolution

    • SE 2: Identify and develop strategies to promote acceptance and respect in the school and community.

  • ACT Mental Health First Aid

    • SE 3: Identify safe/unsafe situations.

    • SE 1: Identify issues that impact personal safety.

6th Grade Grand Canyon Adventure 2024!

Attention 6th Graders!

Are you interested in going to the Grand Canyon?

There will be a Grand Canyon school trip parent meeting on Tuesday, September 12th,

from 6:00PM-7:00PM in the ETMS Library Media Center.

RECOGNITIONS & CELEBRATIONS

8th Grade Industrial Technology

Students in 8th grade Industrial Technology are designing their own house plans. They are completing a station walkthrough with multiple actual house plans donated by Mark Frashier Construction.

7th grade student, Kasen Pryor worked on building his Skimmer.

8th Grade Gifted Class Field Trip

Students from the 8th grade Gifted classes attended a field trip to the Truman Library's White House Decision Center on 9/6. They participated in a Simulation where each student represented President Truman or one of the members of his administration. They helped advise the President on what actions he should take regarding the desegregation of the military.

6th Grade BMIT

On Friday, September 1st, students in Teamwork exercise in BMIT 6th, worked on who can build the tallest tower with spaghetti, tape, and a marshmallow on top. -Mrs. Stanley

Art Class


Students in Ms. Garwood's class studied the work of artist Heather Hansen and created collaborative mirror drawings in preparation for a larger non-objective drawing.

FACS Department

WooHoo.....the FACS department has started cooking projects already!! The 7th graders made "Monkey Bread" this week and learned all about kitchen expectations and basic tools. We are excited to continue our cooking journey next week too!

BISON+ Staff

This semester’s Bison+ staff is out mastering their camera basics to make sure your first show looks fantastic in a few weeks.

STUDENT ABSENCES

If your student will be absent from school, please call in the

absence by 9:30 AM to the Attendance Secretary

at 816-986-2577.

The attendance voicemail line is available 24/7.

LSR7 Football Games

LSR7 encourages, supports, and welcomes fan attendance at our home football games.


To provide the safest possible environment, all students grades K-8 must be accompanied by an adult at all home football games at LSHS, LSN, and LSW. Any unaccompanied student will not be permitted entry to the game.


All student spectators in grades K-8 are encouraged to sit with their adult chaperones. If a student spectator becomes a disruption to the event, the student will be required to sit with their chaperone or directed to leave the game.


Backpacks are prohibited.
