Big picture
Thank you for your participation and dedication to your child's success. We are working hard to ensure your children receive the best education and achieve great things! We are fervently working on creating online education for your children. We will start small and build to more resources. The closing of schools across the state of Texas was an unexpected adventure that we are all navigating. We ask for your support, encouragement, and grace as we try out new online educational opportunities for all students. This second week will involve activities and videos found from around the web. The teachers are working to build classrooms in an online educational program for the following week. Please make sure you participate in all online surveys because that is our only avenue of collecting data across the district to serve all of your needs. I want to close by letting you all know how much we miss your children! We are sad that we are not getting to see and hug your children. We pray that you are all safe and healthy!

IXL - Virtual Learning for ALL students Pre K-5

IXL Expectations

Parents,

Welcome to IXL! IXL will allow your children to practice math, reading, science, and social studies on both their grade level and on activities above and below depending on how they score in the diagnostic. This is a required learning tool for all students every week. The teachers will monitor student progress and assign pass/fail grades for all students based on participation in the program. ALL students will begin with 30 minutes in the diagnostic arena. Below, there is a video that explains where to go and how to use the system. Each day your child should work in the diagnostic arena five minutes, then move to the starred skills under the recommendation tab, and finish out with other recommended activities. We expect our children to work at least fifteen minutes in each subject per day. The starred activities are problems based on what they are currently learning, and the recommended activities are based on how they score in the diagnostic. It is critical that your students work hard while in the diagnostic so both you and the teachers can see the strengths and weakness of your child. The teachers will send out login and password information through Class Dojo, so please continue to check it everyday. Remember your child will begin with the diagnostic arena from the website below.
