Principal's Paragraphs
Dear Belair Families,
It's August! That means back to school time is in full swing! I hope you have enjoyed your summer and the extra time with your child(ren)!
As we prepare to come back to school for the 2019-2020 school year, we will have some new faces joining us! Read below to meet all of our new staff! Share this information with your child(ren) so that they are prepared in August for our new faces!
Remember, our start and end times have changed! School hours are 7:45-2:45. Drop off for students begins at 7:00 by the back gym doors. Breakfast will be served from 7:00-7:45. Students will be considered tardy if arriving after 7:45 and will need an adult to sign them in at the office.
Y-Care will NOT be on site for any early morning supervision. Y-Care will be available for those families who register at the YMCA for after school care. Boys and Girls Club will have limited spots available for after school care as well. There is a link below with information for the Boys and Girls Club. Belair also has other childcare/daycare locations accessible by bus, including Learning Connection and Pumpkin Patch.
A few important dates are also listed below! More to come!
Thank you,
Mrs. Milhollin
Principal
Welcome to Belair!
Coach David Austin, PE
My name is David Austin and I will be the Physical Educator at Belair Elementary starting this year. I have been married to my beautiful wife Amber for going on 5 years now and we live here in Jefferson City. Together we have two little boys Hunter age two and Peyton age five who will also be attending Belair this August. I taught Physical Education at Latham Elementary for 2 years, and 7th Grade Social Studies in California, MO for 3 years before coming to the Jefferson City School District in 2017. I will also be coaching High school Football and Track and Field at Capital City High School and look forward to being a positive impact on your child's experience at Belair Elementary.
Mr. Matthew Barbier, Part Time Resource Teacher
I am so excited to begin my time here at Belair Elementary!
I am from St. Louis, MO and I am entering my fourth year in the education field after teaching in Lincoln County and Columbia. In the past, I've taught all grade ranges as well as some coaching of high school Varsity and Junior Varsity tennis. I am always searching for new and exciting opportunities and I know that Belair will be the place for me!
Mrs. Lindsey Horton, 5th Grade
Hello! You know me as Ms. Lindsey from the front office! I taught 3rd grade at Belair before I had children, then I chose to be a stay at home mom. I worked in the school office last year and couldn’t handle NOT being in a classroom. I LOVE Belair and I am so thankful for this opportunity to teach here again!!!
Mrs. Heather Meyer, Part Time Secretary
My name is Heather Meyer. I am excited to be part of your office staff at Belair! My husband, Nate, and I moved to Jefferson City 12 years ago. Since I've been here, I have been blessed to be able to stay home with our 4 kids. They are now in high school and middle school so I felt it was time to return to work.
Our kids schedules keep us moving. You can usually find our family on a ball field or soccer field. I enjoy watching a good ball game, being outdoors, going to concerts, reading a good book and being around family and friends. I can't wait to meet all of you!
Miss Erin Robison, Music
Mr. JR Royston, Behavior Interventionist
My name is Johnathan Royston, everyone calls me J.R. and I am a Behavior Interventionist at both Belair and Cedar Hill Elementary Schools. I have worked extensively with our district behavior consultant, as well as, behavior interventionists throughout the JCPS system for the past seven years. I am entering into my 18th year as an educator and have served the past 7 years teaching 8th grade physical science at Lewis and Clark Middle School. Before that, I taught k-6 physical education in the Harrisburg school district and k-12 physical education and health in the Pilot Grove School District. It was at Harrisburg that I was also an assistant boys basketball coach that won state titles in 2006 and in 2008. I enjoy spending time outside of work with my family and in the outdoors. I am married to my lovely wife, Kelly (11 years), who is the LPN Program Coordinator at State Tech and is a Registered Nurse. We have four children together; Garrett, Alayna, Caleb, and William. We love to travel and attend our children's activities. I am excited to be at Belair because of all the great things I have heard about the staff and students!
