What's Happening in 1202?
We are busy learning multiplication and division. Please continue to practice at home so they know the difference and when you use each application. In Reading we are working on point of view, sequencing, main idea, summary, etc. As your child reads to you, ask them to tell you who is telling the story, what point of view is the story being told from, how would the story change if another character told it. We did this with "The Three Little Pigs" and the wolf told his story. Haha what a different tale that was! In Geography, ask about how the holidays are celebrated in different countries around the world. Elvis, our elf, has brought us information on a few so far! We also learned where some traditions started. Very cool! The students enjoyed the "Velveteen Rabbit" a classic but a great read! Lots of learning to ask about.
Elvis
Elvis tried his hand at Art Docent.
Thank You
We learned about Georgia O'Keeffe, and made our own paintings.
Number Talk
Check out some of these strategies! Wow! They have a variety of ways to solve one problem!!!
Please write notes for dismissal, excused absences, etc. on separate paper (other than agenda) as I turn them into office. Thanks so much!
Reminder
Note from office: Due to liability younger siblings may not attend field trips, classroom and lunch functions. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
