The Goshen Gazette
May 2021
From The Principal - Mr. Graves
Greetings Goshen Families,
Each month I try to have something new and unique to share in the opening portion of my newsletter, something that I may not have shared before. However, in reviewing newsletters from the past, it seems that what I shared last May, still applies this year in that, never in my wildest imagination would I have imagined a school year like this one. During my career in education, I have seen almost everything, but again, nothing like this year. Yet, through it all, it has been great to see how you as a Goshen Lane community have come together to support the staff, students and families as we all navigated our way though the pandemic. For that, and for all you have done, I thank you.
Looking ahead to next school year, I am hoping that all of our students can be in the school building together with everyone experiencing the sense of community and the joy of learning. I offer my best wishes to our off to middle school 5th graders. I/we have enjoyed getting to know and to work with them all. They will be missed! To everyone who, because of redistricting, will be leaving Goshen, I wish you all the best in your new school. Gahanna is filled with great schools and wonderful people working in those schools. Please know you too will be missed. Finally, to everyone, I trust you all will have a safe, healthy and enjoyable summer. I look forward to the new school year to come, and seeing all of our retuning Goshen Lane students.

Gahanna Residents in Need
GRIN wants to help you!!!
GRIN is a local organization that provides food to Gahanna residents for free. They are taking their service to another level due to the challenges our world is facing with the pandemic.
The GRIN Mobile Unit will be at Goshen Lane Monday May 10, from 10-11am, and then at the corner of Empire Drive and King George Avenue from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. GRIN will be providing food boxes that include dry goods, eggs, margarine, and cheese. The will also provide information about coming to their pantry for help. Families are welcome to come to either of the locations, whatever is most convenient for you. If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Logan, Goshen Lane School Counselor, at 614-643-0806.

School Book Fair!
We are working hard to keep kids reading, while at the same time raising critical funds to support our school. This is being done at Goshen Lane with our Spring Scholastic Book Fair. We are excited to be able to offer students a sense of normalcy. While you can still choose to shop online with contactless checkout, we will be hosting a down sized in-person book fair in the school library. Our fair will connect your kids to notable books and inspiring characters - helping them become lifelong readers. All purchases will directly support our school!
Spring Book Fair Dates: May 3 - May 14

Sensory Pathway added to Goshen Lane
An exciting new addition has been added to our school! It is a sensory
pathway or “Pride Path”, as we are calling it. This pathway consists of a
series of intentionally planned guided motor movements that are designed
to provide an outlet where students can have the opportunity for developing
gross motor skills, and regulating their sensory systems. Click the links to view this new addition to our school.
