News & Notes
It seems as though Spring has FINALLY arrived. Along with it comes outdoor sports like Cross-Country Running, and Junior Soccer.
Congratulations to our "Kidpreneur" winners, who participated in the County Fair on April 25th at the Lennox & Addington Museum. This event, like our school-based fair, was a huge success, and a great opportunity for students to demonstrate collaborative thinking, collaboration, and creativity.
This month, students experienced many special opportunities - a Dairy Educator presentation, Co-Ed Dodgeball, and the kick-off of Jump Rope for Heart. This month will see more of the same, with a visit from the Queen's "Tinker Trailer", our annual Talent Show & Book Fair, and numerous class trips.
Still, as the school year winds to a close, we continue to focus on learning, along with the development of traits such as kindness, empathy, resilience, grit and determination.
As always, we appreciate your ongoing support and positivity. Our door is always open should you have any concerns or just want to pop in for a visit.
Have a marvellous May!

PARENT LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
PARENT COUNCIL
Please consider joining our Parent Council this year! Parent Council is an essential part of our school community. They fund-raise tirelessly for our school which allows us to greatly improve the learning environment for our students. They put on exciting events, and are involved in important discussions about Selby Public School. They represent the voice of our parent community.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 5th, at 6:00 pm. Babysitting will be provided! While the Council very much needs members who can volunteer at events and help out with fund-raising, anyone is welcome to attend meetings, even if it's just to listen. We hope to see you soon!
Parent Council have started a Facebook page for sharing information - please "like" it at https://www.facebook.com/selbyschoolPAC/ to receive updates.
