Scientista and PCCW Symposium Call for Abstracts and Event Registration:
Register and/or submit an abstract by FEBRUARY 20TH to attend the Scientista Poster and Networking Symposium occurring on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 4:00-5:30PM at the Park Atrium in Statler Hall. Open to all undergraduate females in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). This is an exclusive event with 30 undergraduate attendees networking with around 100 PCCW members from diverse fields. Additionally, following the poster presentations, there will be a speed networking event with refreshments. If you are interested in presenting a poster, please submit your abstract through this form http://goo.gl/forms/p3A8R9jaTG before FEBRUARY 20TH at 11:59PM. We are accepting up to 12 posters on a rolling admissions basis and will admit up to 18 non-presenting Scientista members. If you are selected as a poster presenter, you will have 24 hours after we contact you to accept our invitation to present. If you ARE selected to present, you are REQUIRED to attend.If you ARE NOT selected to present, you will be invited to attend as a non-presenter or be placed on a wait list.
*Note: This event is held in parallel to the “What I Wish I Knew at 22” event, also hosted by the PCCW.You may ONLY attend ONE! If you register to attend this exclusive event, you MUST commit to attending. If you have extenuating circumstances that no longer allow you to attend, you must notify us at least three days in advance, so we can open up your spot to a member on the waitlist.

SUNY Upstate Medical University, Division of Student Affairs presents:
“Try on a White Coat at Upstate: A Health Career Immersion Institute”
June 4- June 10, 2016
Cost is FREE!
(Includes Housing and Meals)
To apply for this program students should be:
ü A current freshman or sophomore year student on a pre-health track
ü A New York state resident
ü From an underrepresented or economically disadvantaged population
ü At least 18 years of age
ü Preference given to CSTEP students
This program includes:
· Opportunities to explore different careers in the healthcare field
· Opportunities to interact with current students and faculty at SUNY Upstate
· An overview on the admissions process including tips on how to become a competitive candidate
· Service and community outreach opportunities in the Syracuse area
· Tips for academic success that include: study skills, test and note taking strategies, and time management skills
· Hands on activities, demonstrations and simulations
· Teambuilding and networking opportunities (including a trip to WonderWorks ropes course)
***Each applicant must submit an application and one recommendation form completed by a college administrator/faculty member

The Janet McKinley ’74 Family Grant.
Open to all Cornell sophomores (at the time of application) for the purpose of assisting students in pursuing interesting, provocative, and entrepreneurial summer projects, with the intent of having a direct and lasting impact on many generations of Cornell students. Applicants who have broad interests and demonstrate entrepreneurial creativity are encouraged to apply. The stipend for the summer experience will cover related costs up $5,000.
