We are so excited to announce that our
Spring Book Fair is NOW-April 11!
We are so excited to announce that our Spring Book Fair is here! Due to Covid restrictions, it is being held online, but we wanted to make sure our Roadrunners still had a chance to get some awesome new books. You can even set up an E-Wallet for your students to shop. If you or anyone else you know would like to set up an e-wallet for your student, you can set a spending limit and let your Roadrunner pick their books. All orders will ship home to families, so the Virtual Book Fair is a good option for at home learners as well as in person. Check the link for more information!

Internet Safety
With students bringing home devices from school each night, our lives have shifted, becoming more and more online. Please be aware of what your kids are doing online. Unfortunately, the internet can be a risky place, especially for children.
Please take the following intentional steps so that Rountree and parents work together to ensure the success of every student.
- Where are the devices at night? They should be with you (the adult)- not accessible to kids- yes, teens too!
- How much sleep are your children getting? Actual sleep, not just quiet in their room while you are asleep...
- Have you clicked “Ctrl-H” lately? This will show you all the sites they have visited.
- Remember, you are the parent. Don’t be afraid to take the device away if they are not following the rules.

Character Trait of the Month of April: Positive Attitude
During April, teachers will be looking for students who demonstrate a Positive Attitude.
This can look like smiling at others; trying to see the good in every situation; not throwing a fit when you don’t get your way. Additionally, a positive attitude can sound like this - I understand; we can do hard things; let’s try again.
Don’t Forget-- at the end of each month, we will recognize and reward these positive behaviors that we are seeing at Rountree.
Tuesday, April 13th - We will wear neon colors for Positive Attitude.
Information for Current 6th Graders
Attention Current 6th Graders!
The Advanced Math 7 Criteria has been set by the district.
Students must qualify for enrollment in Math 7 Advanced (formerly Math 7 Pre-AP/IB). There is no need to request evaluation or submit additional data.
In late Spring, all current 6th grade students are evaluated to qualify for placement in Math 7 Advanced. In this first evaluation, a student may qualify by meeting at least two of these three district criteria for placement:
- 5th grade math simulation exam masters level score
- first-semester 6th-grade math grade of 90% or higher
- 6th grade MAP middle of year (MOY) exam masters level score
Students qualifying at this interval are placed in Math 7 Advanced. This will be reflected in the student’s course selection preview through Skyward in May.
For the 2021-2022 school year, any student who did not meet the initial qualifications for Math 7 Advanced will be re-evaluated during the summer using the additional criteria of the 6th grade Math STAAR score and the course grade for the second semester of 6th grade math. There is no need to request evaluation or submit additional data. In this second evaluation, a student typically qualifies by meeting at least two of the four district criteria for placement:
- 5th grade math simulation exam masters level score
- 6th grade MAP middle of year (MOY) masters level score
- 6th grade math STAAR masters level score
- 90% or higher in the first and/or second semester of 6th grade math
Students qualifying for Math 7 Advanced based on this evaluation are placed in Math 7 Advanced. This will be reflected in the student’s course schedule through Skyward in August.
