Doodle for Google - From Mrs. Austin
There is an open art contest for all grade levels with “Doodle for Google” for those students who wish to participate.
The deadline to return work to Mrs. Austin (Art room 203) for submission for the contest will be Friday, March 8th so that the entries are in the mail before Spring Break.
The contest rules and forms can be located at doodle4google.com The theme is “When I grow up, I hope…”
On the entry form, students can use any material they want, write a 50 word descriptive statement, and get parent’s signature.

Welcome New Bobcat Families!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Bobcat families who have recently joined our Lakeview community! Your New Family Welcome Coordinator, Carrie Kuhn would love to meet you and help answer any questions you may have about your new school. Information about upcoming events is shared via several outlets to keep you informed on Lakeview happenings. So please connect with Carrie at carrieleekuhn@gmail.com so we can get you connected. Also, please register at www.lakeviewpta.org to order your child(ren)'s free grade level shirt that is worn on field trips and special school days.

Yearbooks on Sale: Order your 2018-2019 “Only One Lakeview” Yearbook today! The deadline to have your child’s name stamp on their yearbook is TODAY, 1/18/19! Your fabulous Historian, Kim Brown was able to get the deadline extended for the 5th grade tributes to Friday, January 25, 2019 at midnight. At this time, we have 32 out of 84 student tributes. This means that 52 5th graders WILL NOT have a special message from their loved ones in their yearbook. Please order your tribute today! Go to www.yearbookordercenter.com. School Order Number: 10824
*5th GRADE PARENTS* Tribute ads will be purchased at the same time you purchase your student’s yearbook.
Father/Daughter Luau Dance - Aloha! We are excited to announce this year’s theme for the Annual Father/Daughter Dance will be a Luau that will be held on Friday, February 8th, 2019, 7-9 p.m. Tickets are NOW on sale!

Mom/Son Date Night - On Friday, March 1st from 6:30-8:30 p.m., join fellow Lakeview Moms and Sons for a memorable night playing Nerf wars, touching creeping critters, engaging in games and martial arts. Food will be available for purchase from Sassy Hot Dogs and Kona Ice. Tickets will go on sale February 13th! Stay tuned!
Science Night - Thursday, April 11th. If your child is interested in participating in this year’s science night, please join us for an information night on Tuesday, February 12 to learn about the scientific method and see examples of projects and experiments. More details to come!

Compulsory Attendance
Absence notes are due no more than 3 days after the date of the absent. After 3 days, the absence will be marked as unexcused.
Traffic Patterns for Arrival and Dismissal
Our traffic patterns have not changed - they are the same for arrival and dismissal as they have been in previous years. Please refer to the pictures below for directions.
Arrival Update: The Back Door is Locked at 7:40. If you are arriving after that time, please bring your student to the front entrance. Thank you!

3. If you have a question regarding events or information regarding Lakeview, your best bet is to always email your child's teacher or call the front office.
4. If you are unhappy with a situation or would like to share a concern, please always email your child's teacher or contact our front office.
5. Finally, stay positive. No one benefits when community members disagree on line.
