Comet Connection
Keeping you connected with Silver City ES!
ADMIN UNIVERSE
Comet Families,
As you know, we are making plans for the Georgia Milestones assessments beginning April 16 - May 11. Information has been going out about the testing...notably that even though we offer instruction in both the face-to-face and virtual environments, there is no virtual option for end-of-year standardized testing, so only in-person testing will be offered. Face-to-face students will arrive at school as usual and report to their homerooms for testing each day. Virtual students who choose to participate in the Georgia Milestones must arrive at school no later than 8:35am each day during testing, and will test in their virtual teacher's classrooms. Virtual students will have the opportunity to participate in bus transportation on these testing days (AM and PM, if they desire).
For more detailed information about testing days, please check out this letter. Also, we are asking all parents of virtual students in grades 3-5 to please fill out this Google form by Friday, March 19 to let us know if you plan to have your child participate in Georgia Milestones testing and if your child will take advantage of our bus transportation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's homeroom teacher or reach out to Ms. Deborah Carnes, our testing coordinator.
