Virtual Parent Chats

During these challenging times, please join us for a virtual “Parent Video Chat” facilitated by one of our GPS psychologists. Connect virtually with other parents in our community and learn effective strategies to manage personal stress and discuss relevant topics. You can join at any point during a session and stay for as long as you can. We are here to answer questions and provide support.

The theme for November is, “Parenting with the Brain in Mind – learn effective parenting strategies from a Non-Drama Discipline Approach.”

Letters to parents of children who have been referred for the evaluation phase for the ALP grade two in-school pullout enrichment program that will begin in January of 2021 will be emailed on Friday, October 30th.

Children may also be referred for additional testing by their parents by completing a Parent Referral Form at I will be emailing the link to all parents but feel free to forward this link to any parents who inquire. A link to the Parent Referral Form is also available on the ALP website at

All forms must be submitted by Friday, November 13.

I will be hosting Zoom webinars about the ALP placement process on Wednesday, November 4 at 9:00 am and at 6:30 pm.

Or Dial 646 558 8656 Webinar ID: 846 9525 3353

The PowerPoint and recordings of the webinars will be available on the ALP website at

In order to provide a Spanish translation, the video will be uploaded to YouTube then, after the auto-captioning feature is complete, the user (not GPS, but the person accessing the video) can change the settings so the captioning is in the language of their choice (and language that Google can translate into, which is a plethora of languages).

Turkey Trot 2020

It's that time again...the Turkey Trot is coming soon! The Greenwich Alliance for Education supports the Greenwich Public Schools in many ways, and has helped Julian Curtiss specifically with such things as:

  • The Innovation Space in our Library Learning Commons
  • Families as Partners in Learning Parent Engagement Grant
  • Fanny Packs for each student for Mask Breaks

This year marks our 10th Anniversary of the Turkey Trot and it is REIMAGINED as a month-long Fitness Challenge. Prizes will also be awarded for social media posts on Facebook and Instagram. Please use #GreenwichAllianceTurkeyTrot2020 and share your run/walk photos and videos with us.

Will the Julian Curtiss Eagles - the reigning champions of the Turkey Trot - be able to maintain our title? We are counting on you, our incredible Turkey Trot enthusiasts, to make this year’s event a tremendous success. Please consider registering - and encourage friends and family to do so as well! Click the link below, and make sure to indicate Julian Curtiss as your school when you register!

Mr. O'Brien and Mrs. Loechner will be supporting the Turkey Trot with a Flipgrid so that students can record their exercise and miles and keep track for the month of November.

Turkey Trot 2020 Registration

Don't Forget to Show Your JC Spirit!

Each Friday, we show our Julian Curtiss School spirit by wearing our JC Spirit Wear or our school colors which are green and white. We would also love to see everyone come to the first day of school showing lots of JC Eagle pride!

If you are looking for some new Spirit Wear, families, staff, and teachers may order whatever they like. There are masks, stadium seats, blankets, and other fun accessories as well as clothing. You can customize the logos, colors, etc. (within select choices). There are no minimums. The company will produce and ship directly and Julian Curtiss will receive a 12% commission. Hopefully easy for all! Click below to see all of our fun, new JC Spirit Wear!
