Elegy

History of Elegy
It started in the Greek and Rome time. Its a poem of serious reflection, Typically a lament for the dead. ( in Greek and Roman poetry) a poem in elegiac couplets, notably by Catullus and Propertius.
Purpose for poetic form?
Its a sad poem, usually written to praise and express sorrow. it expresses felling rather than telling a story. its a morenfull poem
What are the characteristics of Elegy
- not always based on a plot
- Questions are raised by the poet about destiny, justice and fate.
- Usually, elegies are identified by several characteristics of genre.
Here's some example.

Sing of human unsuccess
In a rapture of distress;
In the deserts of the heart
Let the healing fountain start,
In the prison of his days
